Watch this heart-stopping moment as passengers escape the car before a train hits it on tracks in Forney, Texas, on Monday, May 8.

As a family approached a railroad crossing, they came to a stop behind several cars that were waiting for the red light to turn green. However, as they waited, the family realized that they were too close to the tracks.

Without warning, the SUV's front and back were on the tracks, and the crossing arms began to descend.

As the train approached, they made a split-second decision. They jumped out of the car, narrowly avoiding being hit by the train. The doors of the SUV closed automatically, and the train hit the car with tremendous force.

Luckily, the family managed to escape unharmed.
