MEET THE woman who was told she only had THREE DAYS to live after anorexia left her surviving on a single lettuce leaf and a granola bar for lunch - but since her recovery has been called ‘THUNDER THIGHS’ by trolls.

Nanny Shae Taylor (19) from California, USA, was diagnosed with anorexia and bulimia when she was just 14 years old. Shae recalls refusing to eat for days at a time and when she would eat, she would only have a small amount of food and used to exercise until she passed out because she was afraid of gaining weight.

Shae remembers crying every night whilst looking at herself in the mirror, as no matter how much weight she lost, she still believed that she looked ‘fat’ and ‘ugly’. Her parents, Karen (51) and Travis (52) didn’t know that their daughter was suffering from an eating disorder as she would eat with them and then purge all the food out later.

Shae used to receive comments from her classmates such as, ‘Wow you’re so healthy’ when she was seen eating a single lettuce leaf and a granola bar for lunch. She also had some hurtful comments such as, ‘You’re the skinniest girl in school - you look like a zombie.’

Although she should have felt hurt by these comments, they actually fuelled her eating disorder and at the time, she took these comments as proof that her eating and exercise habits were working.
