Oxford students wearily made their way home after attending the Magdalen College Commemoration Ball.

The notorious event was titled ‘Through The Wardrobe’ where the walled grounds of the prestigious university was transformed into a Narnia-Esque wonderland.

The Sold Out white-tie event, held on Saturday 24th, through-the-night to Sunday 25th June 2023, cost students 215 pounds for current Magdalen members and 235 pounds for Alumni and guests.

Widely regarded as the most prestigious ball of the year, a commemoration ball is Oxford’s largest kind and held triennially, by different colleges each year.

The grounds had many attractions including a (synthetic) ice rink, games casino, fairground and a music stage featuring headlining rock band act, The Hunna.

As the students left post morning breakfast, many took rides on electric scooters and bicycles, often giving their partner a ride as well.

The university had told students to bring their belongings in plastic bags instead of rucksacks for security which made it look like most had popped to the shops when leaving.

Some were spotted giving each other a shoulder to lean on and a few had rests in doorways.
