Three men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man in his 20's was run over and killed in a Birmingham housing estate.

West Midlands Police and forensics officers were pictured investigating after a man was run over by a black 4x4 vehicle in what is believed to be a targetted attack.

Officers raced to Ormscliffe Road in the Rednal area of Birmingham and erected 2 large blue and 2 smaller silver evidential tents.

The black car, which had been driven across a driveway and through a boundary hedge stopping just short of a home, had been draped in a blue tarpaulin to preserve evidence.

Forensics officers removed a glass bottle of wine from the scene and placed it in a cardboard box for examination.

Further round the corner from the property was a second scene at a black of flats on Roseleigh Road where a 3rd forensic officer examined a scene inside a stairwell with officers placed on each floor.

West Midlands Police released this statement: 'We've arrested three men on suspicion of murder after a man has died after he was hit by a car in Birmingham.

'We were called to Ormscliffe Road, Rednal, at just before 5.10pm yesterday (21 July).

'A man in his 20s sustained serious injuries and sadly died in hospital last night. Our thoughts, and support, are with his loved ones at this devastating time.

'A 28-year-old man was arrested shortly after the car hit the man and a house on the street. Following enquiries two further men, both also aged 28, have been arrested.

'They all remain in custody for questioning on suspicion of murder.

A scene remains in place while we continue our enquiries to establish exactly what went on. We're keen for anyone with information, dashcam or CCTV footage which could assist with our investigation to contact us.'
