Crimestoppers offer 10,000 pound reward for information on the death of a baby boy in Walsall in 2021

Crimestoppers have launched a 10,000 pounds reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the tragic death of a newborn baby boy found in the Wyrley and Essington Canal at Rough Wood Country Park, near Willenhall, Walsall, in May 2021.

This heartbreaking case remains open, with West Midlands Police continuing to treat the death as murder. Despite extensive investigations and community appeals, the identity of the baby’s mother is still unknown.

Detective Superintendent Jim Munro, from West Midlands Police, said: ‘This baby boy deserves justice. His short life and tragic death must not be forgotten.

‘We are determined to find answers, and with the public’s help, we believe we can.

Police officers and detectives congregated along the Wyrley and Essington Canal in Willenhall after a newborn baby boy was found dead on May 20, 2021.

A member of the public reported the body floating in the water at around 1pm.

Police and paramedics arrived on scene at Rough Wood Country Park, Hunts Lane, Willenhall,

West Midlands. Ambulances and police were also pictured on Bentley Lane.

A cordon was placed around Bentley Wharf Bridge he over the canal.
