A dedicated online worker shielded his face with a motorbike helmet as an army of bugs plagued his home - so he could carry on with his tasks.

Jireh Obniala said he was approaching a deadline for a client when the swarm descended on the room in Nueva Vizcaya province, the Philippines, on June 9.

As he did not have much time to spare and deal with the insects, he put on protective headgear and focused on finishing his work in front of the computer.

Footage shows Jireh wearing the helmet as dozens of winged termites fly around, attracted by the humid weather from a rain storm shortly before.

He said: ‘I forgot to close the window in the afternoon. When I returned to work after dinner, the bugs had filled my room.'

Despite the bug attack, Jireh said he finished his work on time.

He said: ‘Anything is possible if you just keep focusing on the goal. Not even the bug army can stop me.'
