It swam and clung onto an inflatable, stranded until of pair of passing Burmese migrant workers spotted and helped the creature back to safety.

Footage shows the dog standing on the floating object while a young lad swam to save it. It was then pulled to the edge where the good Samaritan's companion was waiting.

Onlooker Ronnakit said: ‘The Burmese workers were collecting vegetables around the area. I happened to pass by too and I saw them. The dog was lucky that people saw it before it could drown.'

The pooch, although looking tired, scampered back to the village after being lifted out of the pond.

Ronnakit added: ‘The water was smelly and dirty, but the worker didn't mind all of those. He only wanted to save the dog.'
