This is the shocking moment a bulb exploded and rained sparks down on a woman when she turned on the lights.

CCTV footage shows the resident Pankaew Sirprayoon Muneela walking across the living room to reach for the switch in her home in Uttaradit province, Thailand on June 25.

But the device suddenly sent flickers everywhere and she backed away before shutting it down.

Despite being shaken, Pankaew was unhurt and the light bulb was still working before she turned it off following the dodgy wiring electrical home appliance fail.

She said: ‘I called a mechanic that day to check that everything was fine. I didn't use any appliances that day until the mechanic arrived and fixed our connections.'
