"The 33rd Hong Kong Book Fair is taking place from July 19 to 25 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. As the first (mask-free book fair) since the scrapping of social distancing measures in the city, this year's book fair returns bigger than ever. Let's go and take a look."
The book fair, with the theme of Children's and Young Adult Literature, aims to showcase works for young readers, explore the depth of children's and young adult literature, and promote the joy of reading in the city, according to the event's organizer, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC).
At the World of Art & Culture zone, the newly established exhibition area, children's literature and cultural exhibits from nearly 30 countries and regions are showcased here.

The Children's Paradise is also a highlighted zone. Textbooks and study aids for children and students are very popular. Some families even bring suitcases to carry their book hauls home.

Visitors can not only listen to talks and lectures from some of the biggest names in Chinese literature, but also meet writers in other languages at the English and International Reading Seminar Series.
The book fair prominently features elements from the Chinese mainland, with exhibition areas for north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, which boasts a rich culture and unique scenery, and Guangdong Province, a southern economic powerhouse neighboring Hong Kong.
The HKTDC Hong Kong Sports and Leisure Expo and HKTDC World of Snacks are held alongside the book fair, welcoming about 760 exhibitors from more than 30 countries and regions.
