A man who took his horse on a morning walk beside a fishing pond was soaked when the the feisty mare pushed him into the water.

CCTV cameras captured the hilarious moment in the countryside in Anhui province, eastern China at around 7 am on July 23.

The unnamed man and his equine friend were walking side by side next to a murky fish pond. Suddenly, the bay mare interrupted the peaceful morning stroll by trotting forward and nudging her master into the water.

As the confused man tried to pull himself up and quickly get on dry land, the horse trotted forward for a few feet almost as if it was playfully mocking him.

Then she continued walking slowly up the same path, seemingly waiting for the owner to catch up. The owner took the whole thing light-heartedly despite having to walk back home totally soaked.

He said: 'I was not pulled into the water by the fish, but pushed down by my own horse.'

The horse was not wearing a halter at the time or any saddle but it may have been spooked by the sounds nearby.

Horse behavior experts also suggested the horse may have been uncomfortable with having her owner in front of her, blocking her view and irritating her natural instinct to be at the front of the herd.
