Malaysian villagers use sand to wash plates
Malaysian villagers showed how they washed plates using sand.
The workers were seen scooping up sand from a pile using the blue dishes, then scrubbing them with the fine grains to remove the food scraps in Perak, Malaysia, on May 1.
The locals claim it's easier to clean oil residue on the plates using sand.
After the sand bath, the dishes are then washed the regular way with soap and water.
