STORYLINE:

A Cuban expert said China has demonstrated continued support to the Group of 77 (G77), and the Summit of the G77 and China is an important element for strengthening the construction of a multipolar world that leads to peace and development.

The two-day Summit of the G77 and China wrapped up in Havana on Saturday.

Delegations from more than 100 countries were in attendance, including over 30 heads of state and government.

"First of all, it (China) provides necessary means and support for clarifying and promoting the collective interests of the group, and further improving their joint negotiation capacity. Secondly, China is the lead country of the South-South cooperation. Another very important factor is China's initiatives at the international level, which are very consistent with the interests of the Group of 77."

"First of all, the Global Development Initiative, which puts development at the center of multilateral institutions, that is, the problems of these countries that are lagging behind. Although not a formal member of the G77, China has been a supporter of the Group's positions and has maintained close relations with the Group.
