SOUNDBITE 1 (English): PAUL FRIMPONG, Executive director of the Africa-China Center for Policy and Advisory
"If the African continent is looking at a country or a region that can inspire its own development journey and model, and of course, China's one would be very important. The reason is that China is the recent country to really go through economic transformation."
Frimpong also said that China's support for Africa, particularly in infrastructure development, plays a crucial role in advancing the continent's modernization.
SOUNDBITE 2 (English): PAUL FRIMPONG, Executive director of the Africa-China Center for Policy and Advisory
"We need to invest in Africa's infrastructure. Africa's infrastructure is kind of unlocking the economic potential, and that is critical on the modernization path that we are seeking. We need roads, we need railways, and we need power.
No country comes close in terms of the amount and level of investment that we have received from China when it comes to infrastructure investment.
The African people are the assets that we have. So, if you have a partner that can do anything to provide a form of training and support to your people, then you can see that partner is helping you on your modernization journey."
