Two historic paddle steamers met-up in a rare sight off Kent, UK this afternoon (October 7).

The world's last seagoing paddle steamer Waverley went up the River Medway to meet fellow historic paddle steamer Medway Queen, which is berthed at Gillingham pier in Kent.

Medway Queen was one of the little ships of Dunkirk and helped rescue an estimated 7,000 men. Medway Queen is currently being restored by the Medway Queen Preservation Society.

Waverley is undertaking its London & Thames sailing season, which ends with its last Thames estuary trip tomorrow (October 8), before it heads back up to Glasgow, Scotland.
