Footage shows Cantonese opera actor Fuji Jim receiving compliments from the singer-songwriter, who praised his extravagant oriental costume and his private performance backstage in Hong Kong.

Fuji Jim said: 'I asked them to listen to me sing. I was so shy and excited that I almost cried, and when I finished performing in front of them, and they praised me for having a beautiful voice.'

Non-binary Sam - also known for his extravagant outfits and love of Asia - was in Hong Kong for the GLORIA tour 2023 in Asia, which started in Bangkok on October 3. The other stops include Taipei, Hong Kong, Seoul, Singapore, Manila, Yokohama, and Osaka.
