Italian Air Force plane carrying aid for Gaza lands in Egypt
An Italian Air Force plane carrying aid for Gaza has landed in Egypt on Monday.
Footage shows the aircraft taxiing on a runway in Egypt after departing from a United Nations hub in Brindisi, Italy, on October 30.
Italian foreign minister Antonio Tajani said: 'The first shipment of aid destined for Gaza has just landed in Egypt. A great team effort coordinated by the Farnesina (Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy), with an Italian Air Force flight departing from the UN base in Brindisi. Sixteen tons of primary goods intended to alleviate the suffering of Palestinian civilians.'
Israel has declared war and besieged the Gaza Strip in retaliation for an attack by Palestinian militant group Hamas this October.
At least 8,306 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7, news outlet Al Jazeera citing Gaza's Health Ministry reported.
