This footage was filmed and produced 11 November 2023.

In a harrowing incident on November 11, near Westfields Boulevard in Chantilly, our dedicated officer conducting a routine traffic stop on Route 28 faced a perilous situation. Despite the Move Over law in place, multiple vehicles failed to provide the necessary space for the officer's safety.

The close call resulted in one vehicle striking the officer's door, underscoring the critical importance of adhering to move-over laws. The driver, an adult woman, was charged with Failure to Move Over for an Emergency Vehicle and released on a summons.

Law enforcement emphasizes the urgency of moving over for emergency vehicles as a legal obligation. A plea is made to all drivers to prioritize safety by moving over when possible, slowing down, and ensuring the well-being of everyone on the road. Let us collectively work to keep our roadways safe for those who tirelessly work to protect us.
