STORYLINE:

American businessman Randy Floyd has stayed in China for 12 years.

He established his own company in south China's Hainan Province several years ago, attracted by the promising opportunities and the favorable business environment.

"My name is Randy, and I'm from America. I've been in Hainan for six years, in China for almost 12 (years). I have a foreign language consultation company here in Hainan, in Haikou. When I came here to Hainan originally, it was for work, but then the policies here were so advantageous that I decided I could open my own company very easily. So it was very streamlined. Everything, all the processes here are very streamlined. They have great benefits such as tax policies, income tax policies, and a bright future for the free trade port.
The business environment is very good. It's one of the reasons I've opened a company and decided to stay here. It's very welcoming to anyone who wants to establish a company here. They give you full support. They reach out to you. They even help you promote your business. They do everything, and they just make everything as comfortable as possible. And now I've established a company, and the success is increasing."

China released a master plan in June 2020 to build Hainan into a globally influential and high-level free trade port by the middle of the century. In recent years, the island province has become an attractive shopping destination for consumers.

"As far as the future and the outlook, I think this is going to be probably a world-renowned free trade port, the largest free trade part in the world. And I'm really looking forward to the future because it's going to be bright, bigger than anything we've seen."
