The heartbreaking CCTV footage shows a young boy praying on his knees for his parents to stop fighting in front of his home.

In the recording, the child can first be seen wandering outside his home to avoid his parents' argument in the city of Shantou in Guandong, China, on December 31.

But as the dispute became too unbearable to hear, he then suddenly knelt down in a corner at the entrance and began praying for the fighting to stop.

Several seconds later he quickly got up after seeing several people passing by near his home, only to kneel down once again after they were gone.

The boy's father who later shared the surveillance camera video, told Chinese media that he burst into tears after seeing the video.

He explained that he and his wife had a loud argument that day, and were unaware that they could scare the child.
