Driver caught on camera using phone with both hands before crash
This is the shocking moment a reckless driver was caught on camera using her phone with both hands moments before crashing.
Dashcam footage captured on a winding rural road shows the woman typing on her device with both hands while taking her eyes off the road in Madrid, Spain, on August 26.
The vehicle then veers toward the edge before she suddenly realises the danger, screaming and swearing as she jerks the wheel back towards the centre.
She ends up striking a road sign, but officials confirmed that no injuries were reported.
Local authorities who released the video said that one in four drivers admits to using their phone while behind the wheel.
In response, police launched nationwide checks for mobile phone use while driving on October 8, in an effort to reduce fatalities caused by distracted driving.
