Russian helicopter crews demolish Ukrainian command post
The stunning video shows Russian helicopter crews purportedly demolishing a Ukrainian command post.
Soldiers from Russia's Southern Military District allegedly demolished the Ukrainian command post using Ka-52 helicopters in a special mission on January 17.
The attack reportedly happened after the servicemen received the flight task and Ukrainian units' coordinates in the area of Donetsk, Ukraine.
Russia's Ministry of Defence said in a statement: 'Moving at minimum altitude, the helicopter crews brought the vehicles to the firing line and struck the fortified command post of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with unguided aviation rockets.
'After using aviation means of destruction, the crews performed anti-missile manoeuvres and deployed heat traps.'
One of the aircraft spotters, identified only as 'Zorkiy' said: 'We work with army and assault aviation. The main targets are the enemy's personnel and armoured vehicles.
'We operate against fortifications – bunkers, pillboxes. Pilots perform exceptionally well, excellent air support
Helicopter commander Mayak' added: 'The helicopter is very reliable, and it has enough manoeuvring characteristics to perform a wide range of tasks.'
The group returned to the headquarters after completing the mission, said the ministry.
