An international conference on promoting global cooperation in industrial technology innovation concluded Friday in Nanjing, the provincial capital of east China's Jiangsu Province.
The First Global Industrial Technology Innovation Cooperation Conference was co-hosted by the World Association of Industrial and Technological Research Organization (WAITRO) and the National Innovation Center par Excellence (NICE).
Themed "Integrating innovation and industry: partnerships for a sustainable future," the two-day event drew about 400 participants from over 20 countries and regions to discuss topics such as international innovation cooperation, new materials, carbon neutrality and advanced manufacturing, etc.

"But actually making that transition through innovation to commercialization is for everybody very difficult. That's where an organization such as JITRI, Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute, and NICE, the National Innovation Center par Excellence, that really fills the gap and enables universities and researchers such as those from Birmingham (University) to actually work with partners and industries to be able to go much further."
