Airport worker caught on camera hurling suitcases onto ground
An airport worker was caught on camera hurling suitcases onto the ground at an airport in Thailand.
Footage shows the ground staff dragging and dropping passengers' suitcases from a trolley at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok on January 16.
An onlooker said he was on Garuda Indonesia flight GA869 bound for Jakarta, Indonesia, when he saw the worker's careless handling of the luggage.
Staff at the same airport also came under fire on January 4 after a passenger's lost camera was returned to her with selfies of the cleaning crew on the photo roll.
The operator, Airports of Thailand Plc, is 70 per cent owned by the Thai government. Bloomberg research in 2017 found it was the world's richest airport operator. However, the airport was subject to corruption scandals during its development and as recently as 2020, pilots made regularly complaints about the state of the runway.
