Crazy! Just Eat CYCLIST haplessly pedals onto the M6 Motorway near Birmingham’s Spaghetti Junction
This was the reckless moment a Just Eat takeaway cyclist rode his bike onto the M6 Motorway near Birmingham, England.
Dashcam footage captured the astonishing clip where the orange jacketed rider careered up the slip road towards the 3-lane motorway where the hard shoulder had been closed due to roadworks.
The dash cam driver, who wishes to remain anonymous, called the incident in to the emergency services on Friday 26 January at 8pm.
He said: “I was driving North making my way onto the M6 from the Spaghetti Junction (Junction 6) and got ready to indicate onto the motorway when I saw a cyclist haplessly riding close to the edge.
“I came back to the nearside lane and beeped my horn at him to try and get him to stop, there was no opportunity for me to safely pull over so I called 999 and got the police to deal with it.
The driver continued, saying the rider "wouldn't have stood a chance"...
“He had front and rear lights and the smallest of helmets when I beeped, he looked around, he looked like he was in his mid to late 20's, but he was going about 10mph and wouldn’t have stood a chance against a 60mph lorry.
"I think he was on an electric bike and the battery had run out, god only knows why he opted to ride on the motorway though, maybe he had a death wish!"
The rider was seen in the rear view camera pulling towards the verge as the camera car continued along the freeway.
