Transformer Blows Up in Norfolk Neighborhood
Occurred on January 9, 2024 / Norfolk, Virginia, USA
Info from Licensor: "My daughter Lily and I filmed the identical transformer exploding/shooting flames but from two different angles. Unbeknownst to us, we were filming simultaneously because it had exploded three times before we captured the fourth explosion. This occurred on January 9, 2024 in front of our home in Norfolk, VA. There was a terrible storm hitting the Mid Atlantic region. She began filming because of the prior three explosions. I began filming because I wanted to document if this was a result of the tree cutting service that we had hired the day before. Ultimately, the transformer explosion was not caused by any down tree limbs or tree interference. The power company, Dominion Power, came by and power was restored within minutes. No one or property was harmed."
