On February 21, the Guatemalan National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (CONRED) issued a statement revealing the outbreak of a forest fire on Volcan de Agua in Sacatepequez.

According to authorities, military personnel and firefighters, assisted by a helicopter conducting water drops, were actively engaged in combating the blaze at the volcano.

As of the latest update, no injuries or fatalities have been reported by official sources.

CONRED also released a video captured from a helicopter, showcasing an aerial survey conducted to gather critical data and identify hot spots.
