A sushi set rotating on a luggage carousel baffled passengers at an airport in Japan.

A holidaymaker spotted the bizarre culinary decoration at the Chubu Centrair International Airport in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, on February 23.

She checked whether it was actually food while recording it spinning around the conveyor belt that carries suitcases. However, the tourist was later told that it was a display to promote tourism in the region.

She said: 'It was my first time seeing this creative baggage and they are very persuading. It made me feel hungry.'

Officials creatively promoted tourism in Nagoya by showcasing two local delicacies, the Nagoya meshi rice and a variety of sushi.

The sushi display showcased various nigiri sushi like salmon and tuna. There was also a whole salmon, squid, tuna head, and other sushi ingredients behind the platter.
