This is the heartwarming moment a man rescued his hapless pet tortoise that was stuck in a wooden kitchen stool.

Wisakorn Ponmueangla's husband used a saw to cut through a wooden chair after discovering their pet Sulcata tortoise stuck inside in their home in Pathum Thani, Thailand, on March 1.

Footage shows the two-year-old male tortoise named Tung Tong inside beneath the stool moving its fins.

The husband sawed the arms of the chair to free the animal.

Wisakorn explained that Tung Tong has had a habit of crawling into chairs since he was young, but he could always manage to get out because of his small size.

However, as he grew bigger, he found himself stuck this time.

She said: 'We had to sacrifice our restaurant chair to accommodate Tung Tong's mischievous behaviour, but we're happy to do so.'

Sulcata tortoises are big and tough animals that can grow up to 150 pounds once it reaches into adulthood.
