A fiery traffic collision involving multiple vehicles resulted in a fatality early Tuesday morning on the southbound I-5 in Boyle Heights.

The collision which occurred just north of Indiana shortly before 3 a.m., involved two sedans and a big rig.

One sedan was found in the center divider fully involved in flames and a second sedan with front end damage, was seen just north of the collision location in the number 1 lane as well.

A big rig was observed with impact damage on the left side from the cab down the entire side of the trailer.

The California Highway Patrol is handling the investigation into the cause of the crash along with the Los Angeles city and county fire departments.
