On the morning of March 21st, the world's first hydrogen-powered urban train, independently developed by CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co., Ltd., conducted a full-load operation test at a speed of 160 kilometers per hour on the test line in Changchun, China.

During the test, the train achieved a speed of 160 km/h, with an average energy consumption of only 5 kWh per kilometer, and a maximum cruising range of over 1000 kilometers.

According to reports, this test also validated the practical performance of hydrogen trains in temperatures ranging from minus 25 to 35 degrees Celsius. The test results met all the vehicle design requirements, with performance indicators reaching international leading levels.

Compared to traditional internal combustion-powered urban vehicles, hydrogen-powered urban trains can achieve a reduction of 50,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions over their entire lifecycle, equivalent to the emissions produced by 50,000 cars driving 5000 kilometers each.

Hydrogen-powered urban transportation offers advantages such as environmental cleanliness, simple operation and maintenance, short construction periods, and minimal fixed investment. It features high speed, large capacity, rapid boarding and alighting, and intelligent safety characteristics.
