According to the official statement from the Banan District Police in Chongqing, at around 7 a.m. on April 1st, a 37-year-old woman named He, residing in a residential complex on Yunan Avenue, suddenly experienced a manic episode. Armed with a kitchen knife, she injured her mother-in-law before throwing her 3-year-old child out of the window, causing their tragic demise.

Currently, the injured individual is receiving medical treatment at the hospital and is not in life-threatening condition. He has been apprehended by the police, with relatives and neighbors reporting abnormal recent behavior. The woman was reported to throw the child impulsively after arguing with her mother-in-law. The case is currently under further investigation.
