On March 23rd, in Yajiang, southern China, after extinguishing a forest fire, firefighters indulged in some childlike fun by joyfully sliding down the grassy slopes.

According to reports, on March 15th at 17:00, a forest fire broke out in Baizi Village, Gela Town, Yajiang County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province. The fire affected a total of 11 villages and one community, involving 837 households and 3,396 people, all of whom were safely evacuated with no casualties reported. As of 18:00 on the 17th, a total of 2,326 personnel had been deployed for firefighting efforts. By the 17th, due to sudden strong winds and erratic wind directions at the fire scene, the fire spread in multiple directions, creating three main fire zones, posing significant challenges to firefighting operations.

As of 10:00 on March 28th, 2024, the forest fire in Baizi Village, Gela Town, Yajiang County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province, had achieved the "three no's" target of no visible flames, no smoke points, and no harmful gases emitted.

According to the Sichuan Ganzi Prefecture Emergency Management Bureau, preliminary investigations indicate that the forest fire in Yajiang County on March 15th was caused by construction-related ignition operations, exacerbated by extreme winds. Further investigations into the matter are ongoing.
