Fatal School Bus Accident Captured in Hays County, TX, USA
This footage was filmed and produced 22 March 2024.
The devastating moment a concrete truck collided with a school bus carrying pre-K students has been captured in two harrowing videos released by Hays Consolidated Independent School District (CISD). The collision, which occurred last Friday on State Highway 21, claimed the lives of two individuals and left several others injured.
The footage, obtained from cameras mounted both inside and outside the bus, offers a chilling insight into the tragic events that unfolded. In one video, captured from the front of the bus, the FJM Concrete Pumping truck can be seen veering across the double yellow line before colliding with the bus, triggering screams of terror from the children onboard. The entire sequence of events transpired in less than 20 seconds.
A second video, filmed from the side of the bus, captures the immediate aftermath of the crash as bystanders rush to the scene to offer assistance. Meanwhile, the children inside can be heard crying as individuals attempt to open the doors and windows to provide aid.
The accident claimed the lives of five-year-old Ulises Rodriguez Montoya, who was a passenger on the bus, and 33-year-old Ryan Wallace, who was driving a vehicle behind. Numerous others, including Montoya's mother, Widyan Younes, whose daughter Masa was airlifted to the hospital, were left traumatized by the incident.
