The Arab League permanent members held an extraordinary meeting on Wednesday in the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo, reaffirming its solid stance with Palestine.

SOUNDBITE 1 (Arabic): HOSSAM ZAKI, Assistant secretary of the Arab League
"International stances have changed and gradually moved towards the Arab stance that we have taken since the first day. It was embodied in the last resolution by the Security Council that demanded for the first time an immediate ceasefire."
SOUNDBITE 2 (Arabic): MOHAMED MOSTAFA, Egypt's Permanent Delegate to the Arab League
"The Egyptian stance is firm as it refuses any deportation of the Palestinian people out of their lands and refuses any sinful attempt to separate the Gaza strip from the occupied Palestinian territories which will be a flagrant violation of international law."
SOUNDBITE 3 (Arabic): MOHANAD AL-AKLOOK, Representative of Palestine at the Arab League
"There is a clear contradiction in the American stance that urges Israel to not enter Rafah while at the same time providing Israel with tens of thousands of bombs that weigh 2,000 pounds. So Israel is allowed to destroy the buildings."
