STORYLINE:
Turkish police have detained a suspect who was internationally sought under the Interpol Red Notice, the country's Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said on Tuesday.
Kazakh national Nurlan Zharimbetov was captured during an operation in Türkiye's largest city Istanbul, Yerlikaya said on social media platform X, without specifying the time of the operation.
The suspect was wanted at the international level for fraud and two separate theft crimes, he said.
The operation was jointly carried out by the national and provincial anti-organized crime institutions, he added.
"No matter what size, no matter how they are sought, we will not allow international organized crime organizations and drug traffickers to disturb the peace of our people. We will bring them all to justice one by one," Yerlikaya said.
