Last night, emergency responders from the fire department were called into action in Altavilla Vicentina to combat a fire that broke out at a company specializing in the production of detergents and plastic packaging.

Fire crews from Vicenza, Verona, and Rovigo swiftly mobilized to the scene, arriving at approximately 9:45 PM local time. For nearly three hours, these dedicated teams tirelessly worked to contain and mitigate the blaze, successfully confining it to a section of the warehouse spanning over 4,000 square meters.

The diligent efforts of the firefighters proved instrumental in safeguarding a silo containing sodium hypochlorite acid from the ravages of the fire. Currently, operations are ongoing to fully extinguish any remaining hotspots within the premises.

In addition to the firefighting personnel, environmental monitoring teams from Arpa Veneto are also present at the site, conducting assessments to gauge the impact of the incident on the surrounding area.
