A sweet elderly couple brought their savings in a sack to buy a used car.

The grandfather and his wife touched a second-hand vehicle shop owner when they arrived to buy an old Mazda sedan with their money kept in a white cloth sack in Udon Thani province, Thailand on April 19.

Footage shows the husband pulling out a wad of bank notes from the bag with his wife smiling beside him.

He paid the 130,000 baht (2,817.37 GBP) to the owner Suriyan so they could bring home their dream car which they already viewed and tested the day before.

Suriyan said: ‘They didn't know anything about cars so I took them on a six-kilometer drive and showed them its features.'

The shop owner added she reduced the price by 9,000 baht (195.05 GBP) as she was touched by the sincere couple.

She said: 'I also gave them other promotions like no transfer fee, extension of vehicle registration for free, and free compulsory motor insurance.'

The couple was also given 1,000 baht (21.67 GBP) fuel allowance as a gift.

Suriyan added: 'I was impressed by them because I was raised as a child of farmers.

'I learned about how hard they worked to save money so I gave them discount.'
