Thai lesbian escort 'threw girlfriend's pet cat from high-rise apartment block during row'
A Thai lesbian escort has been arrested for allegedly throwing her girlfriend's pet cat from the 21st floor of a high-rise apartment during a row.
Waewprakai Plaengkaenjan, 25, had been working as a call girl at a bar for women to procure other females before she went home drunk and began rowing her lover Tara Preaw, 25, in Pattaya, Thailand, on May 14.
The pair allegedly came to blows before Waewprakai grabbed their pet Scottish Fold cat Minju and took it hostage.
She allegedly held Minju out of the window before dropping him - sparking shrieks of terror from her girlfriend.
Following the row, Tara, along with the animal charity Watchdog Thailand Foundation, filed a complaint with the Pattaya Police Station.
Police Colonel Navin Thirawit, superintendent of the Pattaya Police Station, said that Waewprakai had since been arrested.
He said: 'The suspect, Waewprakai, was arrested on charges of physical assault, animal cruelty, and property damage.
'The argument arose due to a domestic issue. The suspect was drunk and she began arguing with her partner. She then took the cat and dropped it out of the window.'
Tara and her friends attended a funeral for the cat Minju. He was cremated before having his ashes scattered at sea.
Tara said: 'My girlfriend threw the cat from the 21st floor. What was she thinking when she did it? What fault did my cat have for it to suffer like this?
'Minju's death must not be in vain. People like this should not have a place in society.'
Waewprakai allegedly admitted that she had been drinking before returning to the condominium. She also confessed to arguing with and attacking her girlfriend.
However, she denied intentionally throwing Minju out of the window.
She said: 'I only made the threat to get my girlfriend's attention and make her open the door for me. She refused to do it, so I took the cat to the window.
'We had a loud argument, which caused Minju to jump out of my arms and fall out of the window. I did not intend to kill or harm the cat, as I am also a cat and animal lover myself.'
Following the incident, Waewprakai was reported to have been fired from the 'Win89 Tomboy Club Pattaya' bar where she worked, with a number pinned to her shirt for female guests to choose and pay for her services.
