STORYLINE:
A half marathon was held Saturday at the China-Kazakhstan Horgos International Border Cooperation Center, which spans the border between China and Kazakhstan.
Nearly 1,000 marathon runners and long-distance running enthusiasts from both countries participated in the event.
The event offered two categories - a half marathon and a 5-kilometer fun run - to accommodate participants with different athletic skills.
