Jacksonville, FL, USA - May 20, 2024

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office officers Officer Kopp and Johnson found themselves embroiled in an unusual encounter on May 20 while responding to a call near Atlantic Boulevard and Art Museum Drive. Their mission? To handle a rather unorthodox intruder: an alligator that had made its way perilously close to the home of a 104-year-old woman.

In what can only be described as a tale with a twist, the officers faced a unique challenge as they grappled with the reptilian trespasser. However, traditional methods of law enforcement proved futile in this instance, with Officer Kopp humorously remarking, "We can't cuff him."

Fortunately, licensed trapper Mike Dragich swiftly entered the scene, armed with the expertise needed to tackle the scaly visitor. Displaying both skill and wit, Dragich assured onlookers that the 5-foot gator would soon be relocated to a more suitable habitat, bidding a temporary farewell with the quip, "see you later, alligator."
