Teton County, WY, USA - June 8, 2024

Raw aerial footage captured the aftermath of a devastating landslide on WY 22, specifically at mile marker 12.8, just west of Teton Pass, on June 8, 2024.

The roadway at milepost 12.8 suffered catastrophic failure, resulting in a long-term closure as authorities assess the extent of the damage. Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) crews, in collaboration with contract crews from Evans Construction, were initially engaged in constructing a detour around the affected area. However, the relentless movement of the landslide ultimately engulfed the entire road.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the crews, and equipment remained unscathed throughout the ordeal.

WYDOT is now in the process of evaluating long-term solutions and planning repairs to restore the affected section of WY 22. Further information regarding these planning efforts is expected to be released soon.

Furthermore, another mudslide occurred at milepost 15 on Teton Pass, breaching the roadway with mud and debris.
