Firemen rescued a car that was stuck in an air conditioning vent in Russia.

The feline had been exploring its owner's home in Ufa, Bashkortostan Republic, when it became stuck in the ventilation shaft on June 4.

Footage shows a rescuer with a towel gently easing Ferinaout of the narrow gap with as much dignity as possible.

The Department of Civil Protection of Ufa said: 'A story with a happy ending: a cat trapped in a ventilation system was rescued in Ufa.

'Tonight the EDDS in Ufa received information that in the ventilation duct of one of the apartments of the building 1/1 on the street - Ferina the cat.

'The information was transferred to the management company that services this house. This morning, its staff freed the furry captive.'

Local media reported the owners had almost given up after firefighters and police refused to come.

They then contacted the city's Department of Civil Protection which quickly saved Ferina, who was not injured.
