Women are having collarbone fillers to 'look thinner like K-Pop star Lisa'
Women are having cosmetic fillers on their collarbones to achieve a slimmer look inspired by K-Pop star Lisa.
Thai Instagram model Smile travelled to Guangzhou province to undergo the procedure at a popular clinic.
Footage shows her at Copley Hospital as a cosmetic doctor marked lines along her collarbone to guide the injections.
She said that numbing cream was applied for 30 minutes before a second round of local anaesthetic was injected.
She said: 'When you enter the procedure room, the doctor draws specific points that need filling, directly following the structure of your collarbone.'
Smile added that the trend gained popularity as more Chinese women admired Lisa from the South Korean group Blackpink.
She said: 'My friends love Lisa's shape. Her collarbone is broad and square. This trend has been popular for two to three years now. Chinese girls also absolutely love the figure of someone like Lisa, specifically, broad and square.
'They do this procedure in China because it improves your appearance, makes you look thin with clearly visible bones, and makes your face appear smaller.'
Although the changes are subtle, Smile said they noticeably improve appearance.
She said: 'After the filler injection, my face looked smaller. I really feel thinner. I used to tense my shoulders and hunch my back to make my collarbones stand out, but that gave me bad posture.
'Look at me straight-on before the collarbone filler, I was not visible at all.
'Before the fillers, my chest looked wide and flat, my bones were not visible, and my shoulders looked blunt, making my arms seem bulky. After the fillers, my collarbones and shoulders are more defined. I look slimmer, my face appears smaller, and my figure looks balanced.'
Smile received 40 cc of filler, but said the amount varies for each person. She paid 97,800 CNY (10,262 GBP) for the entire procedure.
She said the clinic's fee is 48,900 CNY (51,30 GBP) for 20 CC fillers. However, bosses also give discretional discounts for custoemrs who post positive reviews online.
Smile said: 'The fillers last about one to two years, and even after they fade, a subtle outline of the collarbone remains. If someone returns for a refill, they will need less than the first time.
'For the first few days, there's mild soreness, but the hospital provides pain medicine. For a week after the procedure, avoid wearing bras or camisoles because they might press on the area and alter the shape.
'For one week after the injection is finished, avoid wearing a bra or camisoles, because they will squeeze your collarbone, which may cause the shape to become misshapen.'
A collarbone filler is a beauty treatment where a doctor injects a special gel under the skin near the collarbone to make it look sharper and more defined.
