A fuel cylinder blast sparked a fire in a noodle restaurant in Thailand.

Footage shows the establishment being inspected by police and firefighters after the flames were controlled at the shop in Lampang province.

The officers said they received a call for help at 3:15 pm that day and responded to the scene with one fire truck.

At the front of the noodle restaurant, they found two gas cylinders being engulfed with the kitchen which they doused with water.

Restaurant worker Tu said: ‘Some customers were sitting at three tables when there was an explosion. They left their bowls upon hearing the blast.

‘They ran out while there was fire and the wooden table which was used to hold the noodle pots and the gas hose was burning.'

The owner reportedly turned the gas valve closed to control the fire and the fire fighters arrived 20 minutes later to ensure it did not reignite.

City mayor Surapon Tansuwan said: ‘Initial reports suggest that the hose and pipe were loose and caused a gas leak.'

No one was hurt in the explosion and the fire did not spread in the establishment.
