LED billboard catches fire on side of highway in Malaysia
An LED billboard caught fire on the side of a highway and caused a traffic jam in Malaysia.
Footage shows the 80ft-high advertisement board burning on the edge of Federal Highway near Bangsar exit in Kuala Lumpur on May 31.
Thick black smoke emerged from the structure, and some of its burned parts fell below. Nine workers were evacuated from the scene. No one was reported hurt.
Fire trucks arrived to control the flames, blocking one lane of the major thoroughfare and keeping it from spreading.
While the cause of the fire remained under investigation, a witness claimed the billboard's base sparked in short-circuit before the blaze spread atop.
