A large group of pro-Palestine demonstrators gathered for an unregistered sit-in protest at the ALEXA Berlin shopping mall near Alexanderplatz on June 22, 2024, demanding that Siemens stop supporting what they termed as genocide in Gaza. The protesters held up signs and flags and shouted slogans, including "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free," "Israel is a terrorist state," "There is only one solution, intifada revolution," and "We want 48." Police arrived on the scene within minutes but remained passive initially, observing the protest. Despite the provocative slogans, the police allowed the demonstrators to proceed without checking their identification; the authorities detained only several protesters.
