The two men attempted to capture it, but the small crocodile quickly swam back into the lake. Mr. Hou managed to record the incident on his phone.

Later that evening, another swimming enthusiast photographed capturing a baby crocodile at Fengquan Lake, claiming that several more baby crocodiles remained uncaught. The captured crocodile was about 25 centimeters long.

On the morning of June 30, preliminary identification by Professor Chen Xiaohong from Henan Normal University and other experts confirmed that these unknown creatures were Siamese crocodiles, a medium-sized species mainly found in Southeast Asia. While Siamese crocodiles are farmed in China, their presence in northern natural waters is highly unusual. Experts speculate that these crocodiles may have escaped from breeding farms, been abandoned pets, or even deliberately released.

Although the baby Siamese crocodiles currently pose no significant threat to swimmers or the local water environment, experts and local authorities recommend prompt inspection and capture to alleviate public fear.

In response, relevant authorities have mobilized professional rescue teams to conduct a large-scale search operation in the lake area. They are conducting comprehensive inspections of Fengquan Lake over several days to ensure no area is overlooked and to eliminate public anxiety.

尽管目前暹罗鳄幼崽暂时不会对游泳者或当地水环境造成明显影响，但专家和当地管理部门仍建议及时进行排查和捕获，以消除市民群众的恐慌心理。
面对这一突发情况，相关部门已紧急调动专业救援队伍，展开对湖区进行大规模搜捕行动。同时，连续多日对凤泉湖进行全面排查，力求不留死角，彻底消除市民的恐慌情绪。
