USA: Efforts Intensify to Contain Borel Fire with Ground and Air Support

In recent days, dramatic footage has emerged showcasing relentless efforts by ground crews and aerial support as they battle the Borel Fire, which continues to threaten areas across California. The footage, captured over several days, highlights the intense operations aimed at containing the blaze that has engulfed vast swathes of the landscape.
On Friday, July 26th, footage from the Havilah area depicted the daunting task faced by firefighters on the ground. Members of the Golden Empire Crew 10 were seen navigating the rugged terrain of Breckenridge Mountain, strategically cutting direct hand lines along the edge of the advancing fire. Their efforts were crucial in creating barriers to halt the fire's spread.
Meanwhile, helicopters conducted air attacks just south of Bodfish, dropping water and retardant to suppress the flames. Additional air support was observed at the Lena Dip Site in Walker Basin, where aircraft, including Sikorsky helicopters, were refueling to sustain continuous operations.
