China and Africa have witnessed ever deepening political mutual trust and fruitful results of cooperation in various fields.
In recent years, China has put in place various mechanisms to spur private cooperation with Africa.
The China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo, regularly held in Changsha, Hunan's capital city, has become a crucial showcase for African agricultural products, enhancing their international visibility.
In July, the 7th China-Africa People's Forum and the 7th China-Africa Young Leaders Forum were also held in Changsha, drawing more than 200 people from over 50 African countries.
Hunan is one of the most active Chinese provinces in economic ties with Africa, boosting bilateral trade and investment through Africa-related services.
SOUNDBITE 1 (Chinese): WU RONG, General manager of Hunan Hengzhixing Industrial Park Development Co., Ltd.
"Since the beginning of this year, we have successively facilitated in-depth trade cooperation between seven or eight machinery and equipment enterprises and African countries. Thus, when they are in those countries, they can have direct trade exchanges with local partners, which promotes their most direct trade data."
SOUNDBITE 2 (Chinese): LUO QIN, General manager of Changsha Starlink Foreign Enterprise Comprehensive Services Co., Ltd.
"Through our work in connecting foreign high-quality resources and trade platforms of domestic high-quality factories, we want to build a healthy ecological chain, providing complete and smooth trade services for the settled enterprises, and creating more value for them."
China has remained Africa's largest trading partner for 15 consecutive years, with bilateral trade reaching a record 282.1 billion U.S. dollars in 2023, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
SOUNDBITE 3 (English): OLIVER WONEKHA, Uganda's ambassador to China
"It's fantastic, it's great. China is doing great work all over the continent. China is working with us on our infrastructure development, and one cannot talk of development without connectivity, without road, without rail, without air transport. So China is with us in all those areas and others."
