Two traffic barriers raced down a university campus as they were swept away by floods.

Footage shows the orange plastic objects being pushed by currents down a slope and into a covered path in Songkhla province, THailand on August 3.

The barriers were empty so they were easily washed away when the deluge rose to ankle-deep inside the compound.

Phumin Praisuwan said: 'The barriers looked like they were in a race and the path was a trail.'

Thailand and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are at the start of their annual monsoon rainy season which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms. The rudimentary infrastructure often struggles with the deluge, leading to widespread flash floods.
